Suffolk estate agent sees sales improvement

The last few weeks have seen the number of house sales in Suffolk
rising, a Team Association agent has stated.
Anglia Team County secretary and partner at Ipswich-based Colin
Girling & Co, James Girling, said the agency had sold nine
homes in February, exceeding the national average.
He added that a "supply and demand" market is now emerging with
prices 25 per cent down on 18 months ago, noting: "With house
prices firming as buyers find it difficult to buy what they want,
and as such are not able to get that extra ten per cent off the
asking price".
The situation in the county may be an early example of certain
parts of the country seeing a recovery, with more buyers emerging
as affordability increases.
Such a trend could see higher amounts of first-time buyers able to
get on to the housing ladder.
Last week the National Association of Estate Agents revealed that
February brought a rise in sales to eight per agent, representing
an increase to the level of purchases seen a year ago.
