ARLA: Women are the rental market's future

Women represent the future of the property investment sector,
according to one industry expert.
Ian Potter, operations manager at the Association of Residential
Letting Agents (ARLA), said that female landlords are very
positive.
To prove his point, he used an example from a recent National
Landlords Association (NLA) survey, which showed that 62 per cent
of lady landlords are planning to expand their property portfolios
in the next year.
Mr Potter was commenting ahead of the NLA Property Women Awards -
an event that takes place this summer.
ARLA, which recently backed government proposals to launch a
landlord register in the UK, will be sponsoring the Young Property
Woman of the Year award.
"We are delighted to be associated with the NLA Property Women
Awards 2009," Mr Potter explained. "ARLA members have many female
landlords within their client base."
The occasion provides "a perfect opportunity" to celebrate women's
contribution to the private rented sector.
